Let’s look at an example of what Age-Friendly Care looks like in action. This is a real case that was slightly modified for educational purposes:

Mrs. Nguyen

The past few weeks have been quite eventful for me. I had not been feeling well for a few days and was more tired than usual. I had developed a bad cough and didn’t feel like eating much. My husband was worried and convinced me to go to the health clinic. I went and they sent me home with an inhaler, told me to drink lots of fluids, rest, and come back if I wasn’t feeling better.

Three days later, after taking a fall, I found myself in the hospital and was diagnosed with pneumonia and dehydration. Even though I was fine, the doctors seemed concerned about the fall.
