Mobility

Engaging in movement every day helps older adults maintain function and independence. Age-related changes put older adults at risk for falls and injuries. Setting daily Mobility goals prevents loss of function and reduces risk for falls.

Care partners and nursing home staff support mobility goals by: encouraging independence with daily tasks; engaging in activities with older adults; staying positive and celebrating their successes.

    This video discusses:

    • Why mobility is important
    • Strategies for nursing home staff to encourage mobility in older adults
    • Strategies for family members to help older adults improve mobility
